Home page of Susanne Buiter
Welcome to my website. I am Susanne Buiter, a Dutch-born geoscientist with a strong interest in geodynamics and geophysics. Per 15 May 2022, i have the honour of taking up the position as scientific director of GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam. I am also Professor in Tectonics and Geodynamics at RWTH Aachen University. Scientifically, i use a model-based approach in studies spanning from sedimentary structures at Earth's surface to subducted slabs in the upper mantle, with the common goal to understand the underlying physical processes. I am Executive Editor with the EGU Open Access journal Solid Earth and coordinator for the new preprint server EGUsphere and happy to answer any questions you may have about publishing/posting in these.
